Now this is a great piece of software if you want to get a scaleable site (Care2 uses Gallery 2.0 to host over one million photos) up and running fast. It allows you to maintain a community of users each with albums of media (videos, audio and image) and other downloadable files and has a host of features to cover everything a CMS should. It's nicely laid out and easy to use, features support for streaming your media and loads more not mentioned here - well worth checking out. Dutifully there's also a Drupal module for Gallery 2.0 integration.

webYourPhotos is another PHP picture gallery. There are various different packages available currently, version 5.4 does not require a database and is a offered as a single-gallery simple one file option or a multi-gallery, template-based version. Version 6.0 requires a MySQL database and allows users to vote on and upload their own pictures. One prominent feature here is meta tags for your image pages (i think, well in at least one version, each image has its own .htm page created for it - but I'm not sure). I would give you more links but its a frame-based page.
