At the fore-front of the open publishing movement, IndyMedia offers instant publication of an article with attached media (text, audio, image or video). No membership required, upload limit: 20mb, articles limited to ("political") independent news coverage.
NowPublic is a Drupal-powered, highly innovative citizen journalism project. NowPublic.com allows members to share news links on the web, share writings/blogs and share photos & videos about news stories on the website. There's also a real-time updater tool for you to use if your covering a conference or the like. This is a good project, with a good site design, and good site mechanics - a good example of a multimedia community.
Google's latest beta is here. A Page Creator account gets you a site at http://username.googlepages.com/ built using their very own new online WYSIWYG webpage editor. You can use Page Creator with Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox only, users of other browsers are greeted with the humourous message: "Our programming wizards tried their darndest to get Google Page Creator to work with as many browsers as possible. But alas, even the most expert practitioners of web sorcery must sleep now and again, lest their JavaScript magic run dry."
A host for your videos that I stumbled accross. Everything has to be uploaded in their format, using their uploading software - so it's not terrifically easy :) Every video seems to have a (mostly political) story behind it too. Still, seems like a comprehensive website to use in order to disseminate your views.
"Google Base is a place where you can easily submit all types of online and offline content, which we'll make searchable on Google (if your content isn't online yet, we'll put it there). You can describe any item you post with attributes, which will help people find it when they do related searches. In fact, based on your items' relevance, users may find them in their results for searches on Froogle, Google Maps and even our main Google web search."
"You can submit information about all types of online and offline content to Google Base, by either the standard web form or, if you have more than 10 items to submit, via our bulk upload options. Currently, Google Base doesn't accept digital file formats like Word, PDF or WMV files. You can, however, submit images related to your items in JPG or GIF form."
